Local police departments have to limit evidence sent to state crime lab for analysis

Local police departments are being asked to limit the evidence they send to the state police crime lab for analysis in the latest fallout from the lab’s loss of accreditation.
The state thought it could quickly cure the deficiencies outlined in extensive audits of the lab released this summer by contractors hired by the FBI, but that proved optimistic.
